Malaysia

Malaysia has implemented a ‘Movement Control Order’, which includes an entry ban for all foreign tourists; the closure of non-essential government services, businesses, education and religious institutions; and the prohibition of large gatherings and mass movements. There are limited direct flights from Malaysia to Australia and many transit hubs have now closed. If you’re in Malaysia and want to leave, do so now by commercial means. If you remain in Malaysia, follow the advice of local authorities, make arrangements for an extended stay and take care to minimise your exposure to COVID-19. Stay in touch with family and friends so they know you’re safe. If you have Twitter or Facebook, follow @AusHCMalaysia or https://www.facebook.com/ausinmalaysia or visit the Australian High Commission in Malaysia website . If you need urgent consular assistance, or to register with us, contact ahckl.consular@dfat.gov.au or +60 3 2146 5555 during business hours; or call the 24-hour consular emergency helpline in Australia on +61 2 6261 3305.

We now advise you to:

Do not travel to Malaysia.
