Greece

If you’re in Greece and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible while commercial options are still available. Many airlines have suspended flights and some airports are closed. Nationwide restrictions on non-essential movements will be decreased from 4 May. You’ll no longer need a permit or approval text. Restrictions on access to shops, hairdressers and beaches will also be eased. Social distancing rules of 1.5m will continue to remain place. Masks will be mandatory on public transport, in shops, hairdressers, taxis and medical centres (see Travel). Greece has suspended entry into the country for all non-EU citizens and is recommending only essential travel for EU citizens. If you’re staying in Greece, follow the advice of local authorities and minimise your risk of exposure to COVID-19. Stay in touch with family and friends so they know you’re safe and well. If you need urgent consular assistance call +61 2 6261 3305.

We advise you:

Do not travel to Greece.
