On 7 January 2020, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck off the coast of Puerto Rico. There is structural damage and power outages in the south-west of the island. Aftershocks may happen. Monitor local media and follow the advice of local authorities.

Exercise normal safety precautions in the United States of America, including Alaska, Puerto Rico and the Hawaiian Islands.
